Stockholm, June 11 (NationPress) - The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, remarked on Wednesday that increasing business connections will significantly enhance the already flourishing Indian-Swedish bilateral relations.
Speaking at the India-Sweden Business Leaders' Roundtable (ISBLRT), which was hosted by Marcus Wallenberg, Chair of Wallenberg Investments AB, the minister emphasized that the cooperation between India and Sweden will continue to fuel innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth for a more prosperous future.
“Established by the leadership of India and Sweden in 2016, ISBLRT has evolved into a vital platform for uniting business leaders from both countries to promote collaboration in trade, innovation, and investment,” the minister mentioned in a post on X.
“Today's discussions were productive and focused on the future. We stressed the importance of building partnerships based on shared innovation, technological advancements, and mutual prosperity,” he added.
Goyal also had a “very fruitful” meeting with Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and Hakan Jevrell, State Secretary for Foreign Trade, Sweden.
“We talked about enhancing collaboration in sectors such as clean energy, digital technology, climate, healthcare and life sciences, and skill development, among others,” the Commerce Minister stated.
He encouraged increased Swedish involvement in India's expanding infrastructure and manufacturing industries.
“I look forward to opening new avenues of cooperation,” said Goyal.
The Union Minister arrived in Stockholm for a three-day official visit to Sweden, after a highly successful two-day trip to Switzerland.
“I am excited to engage with Sweden's leaders, business community, and key stakeholders to discover new opportunities and strengthen our enduring relationships,” Goyal shared on social media platform X.
With over 280 Swedish companies operating in India and more than 80 Indian firms in Sweden, “the opportunities for collaboration are vast,” he noted.
This visit to Sweden aims to bolster the existing strong economic relationship and uncover new avenues for growth, aligning with India's long-term economic goals and global partnerships.
