New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to take part in the Durga Puja festivities at the renowned Kali Mandir and Shiva Temple situated in Chittaranjan Park (CR Park), South Delhi, this coming Tuesday, aligning with the auspicious occasion of Ashtami.

This visit represents a noteworthy event amid the ongoing Navratri celebrations, which attract large crowds to the area every year.

To ensure security for the Prime Minister's visit, a team from the Special Protection Group (SPG) conducted an extensive security evaluation of the location on Monday.

As part of enhanced safety measures, residents have been requested to remove all vehicles parked along the main thoroughfares leading to the event location. Additionally, local vendors and street hawkers have been asked to vacate specific zones temporarily to facilitate smooth movement and manage crowds.

In conjunction with this, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory to anticipate considerable disruptions in and around CR Park due to the expected influx of attendees during the festivities. The advisory highlights that significant traffic congestion is expected on major roads, including the Outer Ring Road (especially between Panchsheel and Greater Kailash), Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Inder Mohan Bhardwaj Marg, and the CR Park Main Road.

Furthermore, vehicular access will be restricted on Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg, and various internal roads within CR Park and GK-II. Traffic diversions will be implemented from key junctions, including those under the Panchsheel, IIT, and Nehru Place flyovers. Both light and heavy goods vehicles will be redirected accordingly.

Commuters are advised to steer clear of the affected routes and consider alternative paths such as MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Road, and Mehrauli-Badarpur Road to reach their destinations. These traffic restrictions are expected to remain until October 2.

The Prime Minister's involvement in the celebrations is regarded as an expression of cultural unity and a homage to the rich spiritual traditions linked with Durga Puja, one of India’s most celebrated festivals.

The CR Park Durga Puja, recognized as one of the most significant in the capital, showcases magnificent pandals, lively cultural displays, and religious ceremonies, drawing thousands of devotees from across the Delhi-NCR region. The Kali Mandir complex, established in the 1970s, serves as a spiritual and cultural center for the Bengali community in the city.
