New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday commended Jitendra Singh Rathore, a security guard hailing from Surat in Gujarat, for his extraordinary method of honoring the martyrs. He referred to Rathore as a “remarkable inspiration for every patriot” and noted that he imparts a “genuine lesson” in patriotism to the nation.
While fulfilling his duties as a security guard, Rathore has dedicated himself to gathering information about the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country, starting with those who served in the First World War.
During the 125th episode of his monthly radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi remarked, “You will feel a sense of pride learning about Jitendra Singh Rathore, who resides in Surat. His initiative serves as a profound inspiration for every patriot.”
The Prime Minister elaborated that Rathore has been documenting the lives and sacrifices of soldiers who gave their all for India over the past several years.
“For years, he has been gathering information about all the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives defending Mother India. Currently, he possesses details about thousands of brave soldiers who have been martyred since the First World War, along with numerous photographs of these heroes,” PM Modi stated.
Recounting the inspiration behind Rathore's dedication, the Prime Minister shared how a conversation with a martyr's father profoundly affected him.
“Once, the words of a martyr's father resonated deeply with him: ‘So what if my son is gone, the country is safe, isn’t it?’ This singular statement ignited Jitendra Singh's heart with immense passion for patriotism,” he said.
Moreover, PM Modi highlighted that Rathore maintains close relationships with the families of many soldiers who lost their lives in service.
“Today, he is in contact with the families of numerous martyrs. He has also collected soil from beneath the feet of about 2,500 martyrs' parents. This is a living testament to his profound love and commitment to the armed forces. Jitendra Ji's life exemplifies the true essence of patriotism,” added PM Modi.
