Jaipur, May 12 (NationPress) The Rajasthan BJP chief and MP Madan Rathore has come to the defense of the government's initiatives under Operation Sindoor and has called on the opposition to exercise restraint.
In a media interaction held in Jaipur on Monday, Rathore highlighted that while it is a democratic privilege for the opposition to pose questions, unwarranted criticism during operations aimed at national security is unacceptable.
When asked about the operation that was initiated following the Pahalgam terror attack, Rathore affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the eradication of terrorism. He pointed out that Operation Sindoor has effectively dismantled terrorist training facilities and neutralized key figures responsible, both on Indian soil and across the border in Pakistan.
“The actions taken by the Indian Army represent a decisive blow against terrorism and are being executed with unwavering resolve,” Rathore remarked.
He asserted that due to the pressure exerted by India, Pakistan had to seek dialogue, which India has accepted, not through mediation but on its own conditions.
“India's message to terrorists was unequivocal: deliver a strong warning. The Indian Army has achieved total success in this mission. Those who have survived are now pleading for mercy,” he stated.
Rathore reported that over 100 terrorists have been eliminated as part of the operation, maintaining that Pakistan lacks credibility, necessitating the continuation of the mission to eradicate all terrorist infrastructures and their backers. Shifting gears to state politics, Rathore criticized the Congress party for questioning BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena's membership.
“It's astonishing that the Congress raises concerns here while remaining silent when one of its own MLAs is implicated in accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. Is this silence indicative of an internal agreement with the BAP or merely a case of mutual convenience?” he asked, demanding transparency from the Congress party.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court rejected Kanwar Lal Meena’s petition that challenged the state High Court’s May 2 ruling, which upheld his three-year conviction by a lower court and mandated his immediate surrender in a 2005 case involving threats to a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer with a revolver.
