New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra commended the achievements of 'Operation Sindoor', asserting that the operations conducted by the Indian armed forces against terrorist targets deep within Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) have sent a powerful global message that no region of Pakistan is out of India’s reach.
“For the first time, the world witnessed that every inch of Pakistan is within India’s striking range. Their air defense crumbled on May 7, and in just 25 minutes, the world saw India’s capability to eradicate terror hideouts,” Patra stated during a press conference at the BJP headquarters.
Referring to the briefing as a “moment of national pride,” the BJP leader highlighted that India’s military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack was not only rapid but also decisive, fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public commitment to retaliation.
“This was not a standard press conference,” he remarked, adding, “This was India’s message to the global community -- that terrorism will be confronted with force.”
Patra emphasized the international backing India garnered, noting that PM Modi personally engaged with leaders from nearly 20 nations, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the US, to isolate Pakistan.
“Major Islamic nations also aligned with India,” he stated, referring to PM Modi's brief visit to Saudi Arabia following the Pahalgam attack.
He further underscored India’s unprecedented non-military actions after five decades, particularly the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty.
“Approximately 90 percent of Pakistan's water supply relies on the Indus River. Cutting it off will cripple their agriculture and reduce their GDP by almost a quarter,” Patra warned.
Detailing the dual goals of Operation Sindoor -- military precision and civilian safety -- Patra stated, “The strikes were on remote, high-value terrorist hideouts. No military base was targeted. The mission aimed to eliminate terrorists without civilian casualties.”
He identified notable terrorists killed in the operation, including Abu Jundal and Abdul Rauf, highlighting that India had successfully struck within the Punjab province, the political core of Pakistan.
“This is Naya Bharat. We strike in their backyard,” the BJP leader proclaimed.
Presenting images of Pakistani military officials attending the funerals of terrorists draped in national flags, Patra reiterated India’s long-standing assertion that Pakistan supports terrorism.
He noted that Hafiz Abdur Rauf, a US-designated terrorist, led the funeral prayers, emphasizing the deep collusion between Pakistan's government and terrorist groups.
Concluding with a statement about the historic nature of the operation, Patra declared, “This is the first instance in global military history where a country has struck deep inside a nuclear-armed nation and dismantled its terror infrastructure... Operation Sindoor represents a pivotal moment in India’s battle against terrorism.
