New Delhi, Nov 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Rani Lakshmibai on her birth anniversary, emphasizing that her sacrifice and struggle for the nation's dignity will always be remembered.
Rani Lakshmibai was a significant leader during the Rebellion of 1857. She was the queen consort of Jhansi from 1843 until 1853. Once the conflict erupted, she took charge and fought valiantly against the British.
In a message on X, PM Modi remarked, "A heartfelt tribute to Maa Bharti's eternal warrior queen, Rani Lakshmibai, on her birth anniversary. Her tale of bravery and valor in the first war of independence continues to inspire the hearts of our people today."
"A thankful nation will forever honor her sacrifice and struggle in safeguarding our motherland's pride," he further stated.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also commemorated the warrior queen, posting on X, "Rani Lakshmibai Ji, who dedicated her life to the defense of the motherland, played an unforgettable role in the 1857 revolution with her insight."
