New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to officially launch India Steel 2025, the sixth iteration of the biennial international exhibition and conference, which will be held from April 24 to 26 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, as announced by the Ministry of Steel on Thursday.
This significant event aims to unite key stakeholders from the global steel value chain, focusing on the future direction of the industry with an emphasis on growth, sustainability, resilience, and innovation.
India targets a production capacity of 300 million tonnes and a per capita consumption of 160 kg by 2030, as outlined in the National Steel Policy. To support this ambitious growth in the steel industry, the conference is being organized to unlock fresh opportunities for both inter-state and international partnerships, facilitate knowledge sharing, and highlight India’s policy reforms and infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving the ease of doing business across the steel value chain, the statement revealed.
On April 24, Prime Minister Modi will initiate the prestigious event via video conference. The conference will see participation from Union Steel and Heavy Industries Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishu Deo Sai.
Global industry leaders and senior foreign dignitaries will also be present, including the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia and the ambassadors from Australia, Mozambique, and Mongolia, highlighting the growing international collaboration and strategic partnership in the steel sector.
