Rajkot, Jan 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Saurashtra–Kutch area on January 11 at Marwadi University in Rajkot, as announced by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Tuesday.
During a press briefing at the Rajkot District Collector's Office, Sanghavi noted that the conference aims to attract substantial investments to Saurashtra and Kutch, further solidifying Gujarat's status as one of India's premier investment hubs.
He mentioned that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government is proactively addressing challenges faced by both small and large-scale industrialists, facilitating their expansion and promoting industrial development.
In line with this initiative, a coordination meeting with industrial leaders from Saurashtra–Kutch was convened in Rajkot, alongside group discussions involving various governmental departments.
Sanghavi referred to Rajkot as Gujarat's manufacturing growth engine, stating that the city possesses immense potential to draw investments from both national and international sources.
He also highlighted that the inaugural VGRC, which took place earlier in Mehsana, was a success and has paved the way for the upcoming Rajkot event.
"Rajkot is rapidly advancing in manufacturing and other sectors. However, to ensure quicker development and efficient operations for traders and industrialists, this meeting was arranged to gain direct insights into their concerns," he said.
Pointing out the state's incentive-driven industrial framework, Sanghavi revealed that Rs 956.51 crore in incentives has been allocated to 10,435 industrial units across Gujarat from Rajkot under various initiatives.
"Moreover, approval letters totaling Rs 661.73 crore will be granted to 137 industrialists from Saurashtra–Kutch under schemes such as the Textile Incentive to Industries, Environmental Industrial Infrastructure Scheme, and support for small industries," he added.
"Gujarat is recognized as the fastest state in the nation for disbursing industrial incentives. The Industries Department is working diligently to expedite this process, " he stated.
Sanghavi expressed optimism that Gujarat, under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Patel, will continue to attract maximum investment in the upcoming years, ensuring a sustainable development trajectory with the collaboration of its citizens.
Additionally, Minister-in-Charge Jitu Vaghani commended the state government's strategy of engaging directly with industrialists.
He remarked that entrepreneurs and traders play a crucial role in fortifying the state's economy, and addressing their concerns at the local level while simultaneously tackling policy-related issues at the state level is a commendable strategy.
Senior officials present at the press briefing included Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Jayanti Ravi, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Mines) Mamta Verma, MLAs Uday Kangad, Darshita Shah, Durlabh Dethariya, and Rajkot District Collector Om Prakash.
