New Delhi, March 30 (NationPress) On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he paid floral tributes at the memorials dedicated to the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, and the second sarsanghchalak (chief) M.S. Golwalkar.

Accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, this visit is historic as it marks the first occasion a sitting Prime Minister has visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

Upon his arrival at Nagpur airport, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

After visiting the Smruti Mandir, PM Modi is scheduled to be at Deekshabhoomi, followed by the laying of the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur.

Additionally, he will tour the Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited ammunition facility.

On Saturday, PM Modi announced via his X handle that he would be in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on Sunday for various engagements.

In Nagpur, he will lay the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre. This new facility is set to include 250 beds, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres, aimed at delivering world-class eye care.

At 12:30 p.m., he will inaugurate a loitering munition testing range and an airstrip for Unarmed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at the Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited ammunition facility in Nagpur.

In Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork and dedicate development projects valued at over Rs 33,700 crore across sectors such as power, oil and gas, rail, road, education, and housing.

PM Modi will kick off the NTPC's Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (valued at Rs 9,790 crore) and commence work on the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company's first Super Critical Thermal Power Project (valued at Rs 15,800 crore). He will also inaugurate three POWERGRID transmission projects worth Rs 560 crore. To enhance energy infrastructure, he will launch the City Gas Distribution project of BPCL, covering multiple districts, along with the Visakh-Raipur Pipeline Project by HPCL, valued at Rs 2,210 crore.

This visit encompasses railway and road projects, including the launch of seven railway projects (108 km) and the dedication of three completed projects (111 km). Furthermore, he will flag off a MEMU train in the Abhanpur-Raipur sector. With a focus on education, PM Modi will dedicate 130 PM SHRI Schools and a Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur. He will also distribute keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin. His visit highlights the government's commitment to infrastructure development and social welfare.
