New Delhi, July 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent five-nation tour has been celebrated by the BJP as a monumental diplomatic achievement that enhances India's global influence in critical strategic, economic, and cultural areas.
During a press briefing on Thursday in New Delhi, BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted three key outcomes from the tour, while also delivering a strong rebuke to the Congress party for what he termed an “Emergency mindset.”
He emphasized that the foremost diplomatic success was the international acknowledgment of India’s stance on terrorism.
“At the BRICS forum, Prime Minister Modi made it abundantly clear that the perpetrators and victims of terrorism are not the same. This perspective has now gained global recognition,” he proclaimed, referring to it as a notable diplomatic victory for India.
The second significant accomplishment, as per Trivedi, was India’s strategic collaboration with resource-rich African nations like Ghana and Namibia.
“These nations are rich in essential minerals such as Rare Earth elements, uranium, lithium, gold, and diamonds. The agreements established will not only enhance India’s economic independence but also decrease reliance on a single country for vital resources,” he pointed out.
Trivedi also underscored the emotional and historical connections between India and countries like Trinidad and Tobago, whose Prime Minister has roots in Bihar’s Buxar.
“The Indian diaspora is presently playing an influential and constructive role worldwide,” Trivedi remarked, adding that PM Modi’s diplomacy now integrates culture and diaspora as fundamental elements of foreign policy, alongside traditional pillars of Defence, economy, and diplomacy.
In response to critiques from the Congress party, particularly concerning an article by MP Shashi Tharoor about the late Sanjay Gandhi’s actions during the Emergency, Trivedi expressed his discontent, stating, “Even after 50 years, some Congress leaders continue to rationalize the Emergency. Their criticism of Tharoor indicates they still shamefully endorse the Emergency mentality.”
He further added that India under PM Modi is the only nation that is part of both BRICS and QUAD, highlighting its balanced and assertive stance on the global stage.
