PM Modi Begins Two-Day Visit to Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Gujarat to Unveil Numerous Development Projects

New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commence his two-day visit to the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, along with Gujarat, starting Friday, where he plans to initiate numerous developmental projects.
His first stop will be Silvassa, where at approximately 2 p.m., he will inaugurate the NAMO Hospital (Phase I). Following this, at around 2:45 p.m., he will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for various developmental initiatives for the UT in Silvassa. Later in the day, around 5 p.m., he will head to Surat to kick off the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign, as per a government media release.
On March 8, the Prime Minister will make his way to Navsari, where he will engage with Lakhpati Didis and participate in a public function that will see the launch of several schemes.
The NAMO Hospital (Phase I) in Silvassa is a 450-bed facility constructed at an investment of over Rs 460 crore, aimed at significantly enhancing healthcare services in the Union Territory. This hospital will deliver advanced medical care to the local population, particularly benefiting the tribal communities.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple developmental projects in Silvassa worth over Rs 2,580 crore. These projects encompass various village roads, infrastructure development, schools, health and wellness centres, Panchayat and administrative buildings, Anganwadi centres, as well as water supply and sewage systems.
These initiatives are designed to bolster connectivity, stimulate industrial growth, foster tourism, generate employment opportunities, and improve public welfare in the region.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters under the Rozgar Mela and provide benefits to recipients under the PM Awas Yojana - Urban, Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana, and the Sylvan Didi scheme.
The Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana is focused on enhancing the economic empowerment of women from Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), minorities, and divyangjan by establishing small dairy farms and driving social and economic transformation in their lives.
The Sylvan Didi scheme aims to uplift women street vendors by providing them with aesthetically pleasing carts, co-funded by the PM SVANIDHI scheme.
In Gujarat, PM Modi will launch the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign Programme in Limbayat, Surat, and distribute benefits under the National Food Security Act to over 2.3 lakh beneficiaries.

On March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister will engage with the Lakhpati Didi programme in Vansi Borsi village, Navsari district and interact with the Lakhpati Didis," the government release states.
PM Modi will also honor five Lakhpati Didis with Lakhpati Didi Certificates.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will launch the G-SAFAL (Gujarat scheme for Antyodaya Families for Augmenting Livelihoods) and G-MAITRI (Gujarat Mentorship and Acceleration of Individuals for Transforming Rural Income) initiatives from the Gujarat Government. The G-MAITRI scheme aims to provide financial support and mentorship to startups focused on fostering a conducive environment for rural livelihoods. Meanwhile, G-SAFAL will offer financial assistance and entrepreneurial training to SHG women from Antyodaya families across two Aspirational districts and 13 Aspirational Blocks in Gujarat.
