Hyderabad, July 27 (NationPress) - On Sunday, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, urged BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao to respond to the accusation made by BJP MP C. M. Ramesh. Ramesh alleged that KTR had previously approached him with a merger proposal for his party with the BJP.
Bandi Sanjay asserted that Ramesh's claim holds validity and called upon KTR to clarify the matter.
The MoS shared these remarks with the press in Karimnagar.
Ramesh, who represents Anakapalli in the Lok Sabha, stated on Saturday that KTR had visited his residence in Delhi months prior to present the merger proposition, claiming to possess video evidence confirming this.
According to Ramesh, KTR suggested an alliance or a merger of the BRS with the BJP, contingent on the cessation of ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI investigations involving his sister, K. Kavitha, and others.
Ramesh challenged KTR to affirm or deny the proposal under oath.
This claim arose in response to KTR's previous allegations that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had awarded contracts to a company associated with Ramesh.
When asked about KTR's challenge for a debate regarding these allegations, Bandi Sanjay expressed his willingness for the discussion, requesting KTR to set the date, time, and location.
He also referenced a statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public meeting in Nizamabad in 2023. Modi stated that K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) had approached him seeking to include the BRS in the NDA and to support KTR's bid for chief minister. Modi claimed he rejected the request on the grounds that the BRS is a family-centric organization.
The MoS accused BRS leaders of mismanaging the party and labeled it as deeply entrenched in corruption.
Sanjay also alleged that KTR had initially sought Ramesh's support in 2009 when KCR denied him a ticket for the Assembly election. Ramesh not only persuaded KCR to nominate KTR but also aided him financially for the election.
The BJP leader further accused KTR of utilizing social media and YouTube channels to disseminate derogatory remarks against the BJP and its representatives, warning of potential 'retaliatory actions' in response.
