Hyderabad, July 25 (NationPress) Accusing the Congress and the BJP of “shameless political nexus” in Telangana, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday raised concerns over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's silence regarding the alleged collusion between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and BJP MP from Andhra Pradesh, C.M. Ramesh.
KTR alleged that the Congress government in Telangana is handing out contracts worth thousands of crores to BJP leaders, specifically citing the Rs 1,600 crore “Fourth City Road” contract awarded to C.M. Ramesh. “While the Congress CM distributes substantial contracts to BJP MPs, Rahul Gandhi opts for silence. Is he unaware of this perilous alliance?” he questioned.
KTR made these remarks at a student convention celebrating the merger of Telangana Rashtra Vidyarthi Sainik Parishad with the BRS student wing.
The BRS leader ridiculed Revanth Reddy for celebrating a letter from Sonia Gandhi, suggesting that Revanth misinterpreted a courteous note as enormous commendation. “He couldn’t even comprehend the letter correctly. Instead of an Oscar, he deserves a Bhaskar Award,” KTR jested.
He further cast doubt on the legitimacy of Revanth Reddy’s educational qualifications, stating, “If he can't interpret a simple letter, it raises valid questions about his degree.”
During a presentation on the Telangana caste survey before Congress MPs in Delhi on Thursday, Revanth Reddy showcased a letter from Sonia Gandhi and referred to it as a ‘lifetime achievement award, an Oscar, and a Noble Prize’.
Sonia Gandhi, in her message, expressed gratitude for the invitation but mentioned her inability to attend the event.
Criticizing the Congress government's educational record, KTR accused it of ruining Telangana’s previously strong education system. He condemned the unfulfilled promises in the Congress manifesto, labeling it “the biggest fraud of the century.”
KTR pointed out broken commitments such as Rs 5 lakh education assurance cards, free scooters for girl students, and financial aid for higher education aspirants. “They made grand promises -- Rs 5 lakh for PhD scholars, Rs 3 lakh for PG students, Rs 2 lakh for undergraduates—but haven’t delivered a single rupee,” he noted.
KTR also reminded the audience of Congress’s promise to provide 2 lakh government jobs within a year, claiming, “Not one notification has been released. Revanth is instead distributing offer letters for recruitments completed under the BRS government.”
