Hyderabad, Aug 8 (NationPress) In a strong response to the claims made by Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar regarding the phone-tapping controversy, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao has demanded a public apology from him within 48 hours.
KTR, as the BRS leader is commonly known, cautioned that if Bandi Sanjay does not apologize, he will pursue legal action against him.
KTR characterized the allegations made by Bandi Sanjay as “groundless, irresponsible, and derogatory.”
In a statement, KTR accused Bandi Sanjay of crossing all boundaries by resorting to “senseless, unfounded, and third-rate remarks” aimed at garnering “cheap publicity and media attention.”
According to KTR, Bandi Sanjay has a history of making such baseless accusations and sensational statements in political discussions. He noted that the Union Minister shows a lack of fundamental understanding regarding how surveillance and intelligence systems operate.
“Being a minister is not as simple as just carrying the shoes of your Delhi superiors,” KTR commented, emphasizing that such a role requires a sense of responsibility and awareness.
He further stated that each time Bandi Sanjay discusses the phone-tapping issue, his remarks degrade to a lower standard, misleading the public with false propaganda. “Bandi Sanjay has become a political joker, staging street dramas for cheap publicity and to maintain his presence in the headlines,” KTR asserted.
Issuing a firm ultimatum, KTR challenged Bandi Sanjay to substantiate even one percent of his claims with evidence. He demanded that the remarks be retracted immediately and a public apology issued. KTR confirmed that a legal notice is being prepared and warned that if Bandi Sanjay does not apologize within 48 hours, he would take him to court.
KTR emphasized that the phone-tapping issue is a sensitive matter with serious legal repercussions, yet Bandi Sanjay is willfully distorting facts and making unfounded allegations without any proof—a clear indication of his political immaturity and irresponsibility.
“False accusations, street-level language, and lies for cheap publicity have become Bandi Sanjay’s political trademark. We will no longer tolerate such reckless claims, and I will confront them in a court of law,” KTR declared.
The Central minister made these allegations against KTR and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) after appearing as a witness before the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Bandi Sanjay claimed that KCR and KTR, during the BRS administration, tapped the phones of various political leaders, including their own family members, ministers and MLAs from their party, as well as businessmen, lawyers, and celebrities.
