Shivpuri, April 17 (NationPress) In the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is proving to be a game-changer for small business proprietors and aspiring entrepreneurs. This initiative, launched by the Central government, has delivered substantial financial assistance to individuals eager to initiate or grow their enterprises.
Numerous beneficiaries in the district have successfully secured loans through this scheme, allowing them to progress their businesses. Several entrepreneurs have shared their motivating stories with the community.
IANS interviewed a few beneficiaries to explore the scheme's impact.
Yogesh Rajak, Director of Yogesh Studio, recounted his experience: "I was granted a loan of Rs 10 lakh under the PMMY, which I utilized to set up my studio. We provide services such as song editing, video editing, and other media-related tasks."
He conveyed his appreciation for the government's support and characterized the scheme as highly advantageous for emerging entrepreneurs.
Rohit Dhakad, proprietor of Om Mini Mart, remarked: "I launched my grocery shop thanks to a loan from the PMMY. The excellent aspect is that the loan was collateral-free. This government backing has enhanced my confidence and opened new avenues for my business. I view this scheme as a remarkable opportunity for the youth of today."
Rampal, a local milk vendor, also reaped benefits from the program.
"I accessed a loan of Rs 3.9 lakh, which I invested in purchasing buffaloes to kickstart my milk business. Today, my earnings are around Rs 90,000 monthly. The Mudra Loan Scheme is an extraordinary initiative that has empowered farmers like myself. I am grateful to PM Modi for this scheme," he shared.
In a similar vein, Rohit, who operates a paan shop in Shivpuri, added: "I secured a loan of Rs 5 lakh through the scheme and now run a shop named Rahul Palace. It’s a commendable initiative by the Prime Minister, and I am sincerely thankful for it."
Initiated in 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has been instrumental in fostering grassroots entrepreneurship by providing collateral-free loans to micro and small businesses. The scheme empowers individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by alleviating the necessity of offering security or assets for funding.
Loans under this scheme are classified into three categories: Shishu (up to Rs 50,000), Kishor (from Rs 50,001 to Rs 5 lakh), and Tarun (from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh), catering to various stages of business development.
Over the years, PMMY has significantly enhanced financial inclusion, created employment opportunities, and contributed to both local and national economic expansion. The success stories emerging from Shivpuri reflect similar achievements nationwide.
As the scheme celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 8, thousands of beneficiaries across the country have shared how it has transformed their lives, providing them with hope, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods.
To date, the scheme has approved over 52 crore loans totaling Rs 32.61 lakh crore, sparking an entrepreneurial revolution throughout India. Business development is no longer restricted to metropolitan areas; it is extending to small towns and villages, where first-time entrepreneurs are becoming job creators rather than job seekers.
