Bengaluru, Nov 17 (NationPress) In response to the visit of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar, among others, the Karnataka BJP questioned on Monday that if there was no impending change in the Chief Minister, why were so many individuals meeting with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in the capital?
Opposition Leader R. Ashoka remarked to the press in Bengaluru, "Why are Congress leaders traveling to Delhi if they claim there will be no alteration in the Chief Minister? I have continuously stated that the 'Chief Minister will change in November.' Nevertheless, Congress leaders have denied that this will occur. Now, D.K. Shivakumar's brothers are in Delhi, holding discussions there."
"If there is no change in the Chief Minister, why is everyone in contact with Mallikarjun Kharge? The issues facing sugarcane farmers remain unresolved, the human-wildlife conflict has escalated, and compensation for rain-related damages has not been distributed. Amidst these pressing matters, a game of musical chairs for the CM position is unfolding in Karnataka. Should a Cabinet expansion take place, D.K. Shivakumar could find himself marginalized. All his temple visits and rituals would be in vain," he added sarcastically.
"During the Belagavi session, it is crucial to address the challenges of North Karnataka from the outset. It needs to be clarified if the issues discussed previously have been addressed. We will revisit discussions on sugarcane farmers' concerns and law enforcement. This will also be discussed again with Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy," he noted.
"I engaged with farmers in Chamarajanagar regarding crop compensation and other matters. Accusations are being hurled at the central government without any compensation being provided. CM Siddaramaiah delivers lengthy speeches but fails to deliver on compensation."
"By not attending the GST committee meeting and skipping the advisory meeting, he now appears here making allegations. Speaking now without utilizing existing opportunities is futile. After submitting the petition and emerging, CM Siddaramaiah claims to have been deceived," he stated.
On Monday, CM Siddaramaiah arrived in Delhi to meet AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and later Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Deputy CM Shivakumar, along with his brother, former MP D.K. Suresh, is also in the capital amid rumors of a Cabinet reshuffle and leadership change. While Shivakumar insists there will be no reshuffle, leaders from CM Siddaramaiah's camp maintain otherwise.
