President Murmu Visits Karnataka for NIMHANS 50th Anniversary; CM Siddaramaiah Gives Heartfelt Reception

Bengaluru, Jan 3 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bengaluru on Friday to partake in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).
The Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, extended a warm welcome to her at the HAL airport.
Alongside them were Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil and the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Govindaraju. The Chief Minister presented the President with a bouquet and a traditional shawl as a gesture of hospitality.
President Murmu is the Chief Guest at the golden jubilee festivities of NIMHANS in Bengaluru. During this event, she will officially inaugurate a new Psychiatry Block, a Central Laboratory Complex, and a new hostel building.
In addition, the President will dedicate to the nation an advanced 3T MRI scanner and a DSA machine.
The AI-powered MRI scanner will enable high-resolution imaging of the brain, facilitating early diagnosis. The DSA machine will help in assessing the extent of brain damage through 3D rotational angiography.
To guarantee the safety and security of the VVIPs and other attendees, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand has announced a 'Temporary No-Fly Zone' surrounding the NIMHANS campus, with a radius of 1 kilometer, effective until 3 p.m. on Friday.
All forms of aerial activities, including drones, UAVs, gliders, small aircraft, and non-scheduled aircraft, are strictly prohibited within this zone.
Following her participation in the NIMHANS golden jubilee celebrations at the NIMHANS Convention Centre in Bengaluru, President Murmu will proceed to Belagavi for the inauguration of the KLE Cancer Hospital.
This inauguration event is slated for 4 p.m. at the District Stadium in the JMNC Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi.
Attendees of this event will include Chairman of KLE Society Prabhakar Kore, Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for PWD Satish Jarkiholi, and former Chief Minister and BJP MP Jagadish Shettar.
Also present will be Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, BJP National President and Union Minister for Health J.P. Nadda, along with Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs P Joshi.
