During her address, President Murmu encouraged every woman to look within and discover a treasure trove of virtues, talents, and both mental and spiritual strength to create a positive and enduring influence on society.
“It is not feasible to dismantle barriers and stereotypes without mental strength,” she emphasized.
“Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living have motivated and aided individuals globally in finding inner peace via meditation and humanitarian efforts,” President Murmu stated.
“We are on the brink of technological disruption. In such a competitive environment, we must ensure our human values remain preserved. This is where the role of women becomes crucial, as they lead with compassion and kindness.
Addressing the importance of mental health, President Murmu remarked: “You can shatter silence by establishing safe spaces and support systems for everyone to share and express. It is not possible to break barriers and stereotypes without mental strength.”
Renowned actress and Member of Parliament Hema Malini shared: “Many ask how I manage dance, performance, and public service? I respond, ‘Just Be.’ Yoga, dance, and meditation—taught by Gurudev—help me center myself.”
Annapurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, remarked at the event, “Just Be is a reminder to stay grounded while pursuing material success. Meditation and pranayama aid us in achieving balance and clarity. When women embrace themselves completely, they gain confidence and independence.”
Additionally, Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, discussed a paradigm shift in India’s policy-making, which has transitioned from women’s development to women-led development. In governance, business, and science, women are paving the path, she stated.
The Union MoS mentioned that it is a matter of pride that India’s invaluable contribution and leadership in the world stem from its wisdom and human values, and “never through conquest.”
In this context, the initiatives by The Art of Living in providing spiritual solace to millions globally through stress-relief programs and service projects were acknowledged by Shobha Karandlaje.
Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, stated: “We are in a state of flux, encountering pain, difficulty, and challenges. Never before have we needed this message of peace and tranquility more than today. With determination, will, and the practice of yoga and meditation, we can shatter barriers and navigate the challenges of our times. Every ceiling I have broken was not by me but through my faith in God.”
“Uniquely themed ‘Just Be,’ the conference called for a conscious pause, balance, self-acceptance, and resilience as paths for navigating life’s challenges and fostering meaningful change in the world,” she concluded.
