New Delhi, March 8 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday shared their heartfelt wishes in celebration of International Women's Day, lauding the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in diverse fields.

In a post on X, President Murmu stated, "Warm greetings to everyone on International Women's Day! Today, we honor the incredible achievements and contributions of women. We also commit to working diligently to bolster the cause of women's rights, equality, and empowerment. Our sisters and daughters are shattering glass ceilings and redefining boundaries."

The President underscored the importance of unified efforts to nurture women's progress.

"Let us vow to support women on their journeys, ensuring that no one is overlooked as they forge new paths across various domains. Together, we can build a gender-equal world where women and girls can chase their aspirations without trepidation," she added.

Vice President Dhankhar also took to X to share his thoughts. "Greetings on International Women's Day! Women form the backbone of our society, initiating transformative change through their resilience, dedication, and leadership," he remarked.

Emphasizing the significance of women-driven development, he continued, "An authentically empowered society is one where women spearhead growth and decision-making. We must always acknowledge that women-led development is a vital requirement for Viksit Bharat."

He concluded with a call to action for everyone to "collaborate in creating an inclusive, fair, and progressive future for women."

In addition to their messages, President Murmu is set to inaugurate a national-level conference at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi under the theme 'Nari Shakti Se Viksit Bharat'.

A significant campaign called 'She Builds Bharat' will also be launched during the celebrations. The event will include participation from women officers of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, and Delhi Police, alongside MY Bharat volunteers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and members of Self-Help Groups.

Lady officers from various ministries and organizations have been invited to partake in the event, which will also feature representatives from international bodies like the World Bank, UNICEF, UN Women, UNDP, and UNFPA, as per the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
