President Droupadi Murmu: Empowered Women Shape India's Future
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 8 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu emphasized on Sunday that empowered women are crucial for social advancement and represent the most significant force essential for shaping the nation's future.
She remarked that educated and self-sufficient women serve as the architects of India, which stands as a vibrant and living nation, not merely a geographical entity.
During her address at the closing session of the two-day national conference titled "Bharti -- Naari Se Narayani" held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, President Murmu shared these insights.
The conference convened diverse women thinkers from various fields throughout the country.
According to the President, within Indian culture, women are regarded not only as guardians of the family but also as embodiments of knowledge, strength, and prosperity.
She noted that today, Indian women are excelling in numerous areas, including education, science, administration, sports, entrepreneurship, and social service, making substantial contributions to nation-building.
President Murmu stated that true advancement in any society can only occur when women gain equal opportunities, respect, and safety.
She stressed the importance of allowing women to make their own choices, live with dignity, and enjoy equal access to education and job opportunities.
The concept of women-led development is rapidly gaining traction across India, she added.
Encouraging the younger generation of girls, President Murmu urged them to pursue their aspirations with confidence and to actively participate in the country's development.
She asserted that when women are empowered, it leads to stronger families, communities, and ultimately, a more robust nation.
President Murmu expressed her conviction that Indian women, through their wisdom, leadership, and empathy, will elevate the country to new levels of growth and prosperity.
At the closing ceremony, V. Shanta Kumari, Chief of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, remarked that women should seek encouragement from society.
"As we enhance our capabilities, respect will follow naturally. Our conduct should motivate society to support us, and we should harness that support to uplift our communities," she added.
She emphasized that after receiving respect—transitioning from "Naari to Narayani"—women can succeed in all domains.
She highlighted the need for women to remain connected to the roots of Indian culture and take pride in it, as this will enable them to become role models.
President Murmu encouraged Indian women to utilize their knowledge to foster a positive atmosphere around them, thereby strengthening their families, which in turn fortifies society and the nation as a whole.
On this occasion, Shivani V., Secretary of Bhartiya Vidvat Parishad, outlined the goals of the conference.
The "Bharti – Naari Se Narayani" conference aimed to empower women in their journey from quiet strength to impactful power.
Approximately 1,500 women thinkers from across the nation participated in the conference, engaging in discussions on women's empowerment, education, leadership, self-sufficiency, and societal roles.
Organized by Bhartiya Vidvat Parishad, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, and Sharanya Organisation, the primary goal of the conference was to unite women on a common platform, share experiences and ideas, and take decisive steps towards building a women-led nation.
