How Are Prez Murmu and PM Modi Leading the Nation in Celebrating Jagannath Rath Yatra?

New Delhi, June 27 (NationPress) On the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the nation in sending heartfelt wishes to the devotees of Lord Jagannath worldwide.

This festival, characterized by grand processions and profound spiritual zeal, is being celebrated with immense devotion throughout various regions in India and among the Indian diaspora abroad.

In a message on social media platform X, President Murmu stated, "On the sacred occasion of Rath Yatra, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the devotees of Lord Jagannath residing in India and abroad. Millions of devotees experience a divine connection through the darshan of the revered deities—Balabhadra, Lord Shri Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Chakraraj Sudarshan—seated on the chariot. The divine portrayal of these sacred forms is the essence of Rath Yatra. On this auspicious day, I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for an atmosphere of peace, friendship, and love to prevail across the globe.

PM Modi also shared his wishes on this occasion, praying for happiness and good health for everyone.

"On the holy occasion of Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra, I extend my sincere best wishes to all my fellow countrymen. May this festival of faith and devotion bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and robust health into everyone’s life. Jai Jagannath!" the Prime Minister posted on his X handle in Hindi (loosely translated).

Joining in the celebration, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his wishes, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual significance of Rath Yatra, particularly in Gujarat.

He shared on X, "The Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra is a revered festival of Sanatan culture, celebrated with great devotion by followers throughout the nation. Gujarat, too, is marking this festival of Mahaprabhu with immense enthusiasm. I pray to Mahaprabhu Jagannathji for everyone’s joy, health, prosperity, and advancement."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attending the SCO meeting in China, also conveyed his prayers for well-being and prosperity.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also expressed his greetings, stating, "Warm wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra, the divine chariot festival. May this sacred journey inspire unity, deepen devotion, and offer spiritual enlightenment to all!"

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, renowned for his devotion and commitment to promoting Indian cultural heritage, also extended his prayers.

The Rath Yatra, celebrated with great splendor and traditional rituals in Odisha’s Puri and cities like Ahmedabad, symbolizes the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to Gundicha Temple.
