Wayanad, Jan 28 (NationPress) Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived in Wayanad on Tuesday, where she was confronted with black flags by supporters of Left parties due to her failure to address the pressing issues related to the man-animal conflict in her area.

As she made her way to the residence of a tribal woman tragically killed by a tiger last week, Priyanka encountered the black flags.

She proceeded directly to the home of Radha, a 45-year-old woman who lost her life while heading to a coffee plantation estate, and spent approximately half an hour with the victim's family.

Upon leaving the house, she refrained from speaking to the media; instead, Sunny Joseph, a senior Congress legislator, indicated that Priyanka would address the media after fulfilling her commitments for the day.

Radha's husband, who works as a temporary forest watcher, mentioned that the Wayanad MP assured him of job regularization and repairs to their house.

According to a local Congress leader, Priyanka expressed her commitment to raise the issues discussed with the family during her meeting with top officials at the Wayanad Collectorate and intended to address these concerns with both the state and central governments.

Radha, who was related to Indian cricketer Minnu Mani, was discovered dead in the Mananthavady region of Wayanad district last week.

Following a significant public outcry, the Pinarayi Vijayan government ordered the tiger to be killed. However, the animal was found dead on Monday morning near the location of Radha's death.

Forest officials confirmed that the tiger's death was linked to the animal attack.

The state government has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 11 lakh, with Rs 5 lakh already given to Radha's family, and her son promised a job within the Forest Department.

This incident marks the eighth fatality caused by a tiger in Wayanad district in the past decade.
