Wayanad, Feb 10 (NationPress) - Priyanka Gandhi, the MP for Wayanad, returned to Delhi on Monday after concluding a comprehensive three-day tour of her constituency.

The core focus of this tour was her engagement with grassroots party members, dedicating significant time to meet with them.

She traversed the three districts of Wayanad, Malappuram, and Kozhikode, covering the seven assembly constituencies that comprise the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.

A close aide revealed to IANS that on Monday, she met with the families of Sarojini, Mani, and Noushad Ali, who suffered from the rising man-animal conflict.

Both Sarojini and Mani, who are from tribal communities, lost their lives due to wild elephants, while Ali faced an attack from a wild boar.

“Priyanka visited the families of Sarojini and Ali in their homes, while she met Mani's family at the local forest office due to their residence being near the dense forests, which has seen them not return since his passing,” the aide mentioned.

She was accompanied by local forest officials and other state government representatives.

“Many victims and their families expressed a desire for protective measures, urging for the construction of walls; however, forest officials suggested that trenches would be more feasible,” the aide further stated.

Priyanka assured the community that she would advocate for their concerns in Parliament.

She operates two offices within her constituency—one located in Kalpetta, Wayanad district, which includes three assembly constituencies, and another in Mukkom, covering the remaining four in Malappuram and Kozhikode.

Priyanka made her electoral debut from Wayanad after Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, vacated the seat to retain Rae Bareli, winning by a substantial margin exceeding 4 lakh votes. This tour marked her first extensive visit to engage with party workers and constituents.
