Protect India from Malicious Intentions: VP Dhankhar

Kurukshetra, Dec 8 (NationPress) In a subtle indication towards the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday warned against the malicious intentions of certain internal and international forces seeking to undermine India.
Speaking at the International Gita Mahotsav, VP Dhankhar remarked, “Utilizing financial influence to propagate a specific narrative, these entities, in a synchronized effort, aim to harm our economy. Their malicious intent and harmful objectives are to tarnish, discredit, and weaken our Constitutional institutions, thereby hindering our growth trajectory.”
He continued, “Such entities must not be overlooked; the Gita imparts the lesson that when the moment arrives, we must confront these forces and combat them.”
VP Dhankhar emphasized a message of “nation first” from the sacred land of Kurukshetra. “There is no room for dilution in patriotism. It must be pure and unequivocal.”
He also addressed frequent critics, stating, “Some individuals breed chaos. They can only criticize and fail to think constructively. My appeal to them is to grasp the significance of the Gita.”
During a period when efforts are underway to uplift the underprivileged from poverty, these critics, with their skewed perspectives, even challenge the official statistics which indicate that there are 80 crore impoverished individuals in the nation, he noted.
Drawing an analogy between governance and a Yagya, VP Dhankhar declared, “The aspiration to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 is akin to a Yagya where everyone must contribute to ensure its success and benefit the country.”
He underscored the nation's diversity, stating, “Consider the vast diversity we possess, all converging into unity.”
Calling for collective action, he asserted that while healthy competition is encouraged, it should not escalate into conflict. “In the modern era, there are no adversaries.”
“Individuals may hold differing opinions, but such diversity should be respected in a country like ours,” he added.
The International Gita Mahotsav – 2024 is currently being celebrated in Kurukshetra, Haryana, the birthplace of the Bhagavadgita, from November 28 to December 15. The festival is a vibrant blend of spirituality, culture, and art.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini remarked that the International Gita Mahotsav has gained tremendous success and popularity since its inception in 2016. Millions from India and abroad are participating in the Bhagavadgita Mahotsav. Last year, around 45 to 50 lakh attendees were recorded, with a similar turnout expected this year.
This year, Tanzania is the partner country for the International Gita Mahotsav, while Odisha serves as the partner state.
