Protect Our Progress from Malevolent Forces: Jagdeep Dhankhar

New Delhi, Dec 21 (NationPress) Warning against individuals seeking to undermine the nation, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stated on Saturday that it is imperative for citizens to protect against those with malevolent intentions regarding our advancement.
Leading the inaugural session of the 5th Global Alumni Meet 2024 at Panjab University in Chandigarh, Dhankhar, serving as the ex-officio Chancellor of the university, remarked, "As citizens, it is our primary duty to ensure that disorder does not become the norm. We must guard against individuals with hostile instincts and intentions that threaten our progress."
"Such forces possess significant influence due to their financial power, which can be quite enticing. When individuals succumb to it, they momentarily overlook the principle of putting the nation first," he added.
Encouraging the university's alumni to leverage its resources for the betterment of the institution, he stated, "Nations are recognized by the institutions they foster. It is these institutions that serve as crucibles of innovation and research. They drive substantial change and generate new ideas. Imagine the impact of alumni if they collaborate effectively. By nurturing their alma mater, the outcomes will not only be exponential but also incremental!"
Vice President Dhankhar also pointed out that alumni from Panjab University have held prestigious roles, including President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Secretaries, and high-ranking positions in the military.
"They have distinguished themselves in journalism, arts, culture, and sports. However, my focus today is on their commitment as alumni of this institution!" he stated.
"A critical question arises for all of us: Have the extensive resources of alumni from this esteemed university been fully utilized to nurture the institution? I leave this introspection to each of you," he posed.
"We stand at a pivotal moment in our history. We have entered the final phase of the century since the adoption of the Indian Constitution. This is the perfect moment for the alumni of this esteemed university to take decisive action," he concluded.
