Mumbai, Nov 7 (NationPress) Opposition factions and anti-corruption advocates expressed strong criticism towards the Mahayuti government for neglecting to mention the name of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, a partner in Amedea Enterprises LLP, in the FIR related to the multi-crore transaction involving a 40-acre plot of Mahar Watan land (designated as government land) in Mundhwa Koregaon Park.
Shiv Sena (UBT) head and former opposition leader in the state council, Ambadas Danve, noted on X, "In the Koregaon Park matter, an FIR has been filed, yet Parth Pawar's name or his company's designation is conspicuously absent! This indicates that the government's deceptive tactics have commenced, and that too within a mere 24 hours of the case surfacing. This is unacceptable, Chief Minister @Dev_Fadnavis sir. The officials investigating this issue, including additional chief secretary Vikas Kharge, are known for their integrity. However, given the names involved, the government should appoint a retired judge to conduct a thorough investigation."
Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar also insisted that a case be filed against Parth Pawar.
He further stated that Ajit Pawar should step down.
"In the Pune land scam, Amedea Enterprises LLP is implicated, with Parth Pawar's signature present. Thus, why is the case only targeting Digvijay Patil? The Mahayuti government implies a system where you benefit, I benefit, and we protect each other," Wadettiwar asserted. He reiterated his call for charges against Parth Pawar.
"In the Pune land scam, it is now claimed that Digvijay Patil was authorized for the transaction, but where did the funds originate? Who executed the transaction, and what led to the stamp duty exemption? There are ongoing efforts to shield Parth Pawar; therefore, a committee should be established under a High Court judge to investigate this matter. All officials from the revenue and industries departments, including Sheetal Tejwani, should face scrutiny," demanded Wadettiwar.
He emphasized that Ajit Pawar cannot simply evade responsibility by claiming ignorance.
Anti-corruption activist Anjali Damania also condemned the exclusion of Parth Pawar from the FIR.
In her post on X, she remarked, "An FIR has been initiated, yet a scam persists? Parth Pawar's name is omitted, and the company's designation is missing. Why? Is there an agenda to protect him? End the political games. Initiate a genuine investigation and administer justice."
She added, "The forthcoming committee should not consist solely of government representatives but should also include public members. I am prepared to represent this perspective."
Former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena legislator Raju Patil commented that the Pune land dispute stemmed from ongoing conflicts among the three ruling allies: BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.
"Currently, there is intense competition to perpetrate scams within the government. The prevailing mindset is to act with impunity, believing that those in Delhi will manage the fallout. What can happen at worst? The scam will be uncovered, correct? If exposed, simply retreat, implying no investigation will ensue. A recent example is the 4000 crore tender scam in the MMRDA department's Thane-Borivali tunnel, which was detected; re-tenders were issued, yet no inquiry into the scam's execution or perpetrators was conducted," Patil stated.
He further remarked, "The Pune Rs 300 crore Jain boarding scam was revealed, cancelled, and subsequently forgotten. No investigation was undertaken. Now, the Pune land scam is emerging. Nothing will transpire in this case either, as the current power holders operate under the principle: steal without fear, and if caught, return the stolen items and prepare to steal again. They have likely received assurances from their Delhi superiors."
