Anandpur Sahib (Punjab), March 14 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday offered his respects at Takht Keshgarh Sahib and conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the community in celebration of the festival of Hola Mohalla.
The Chief Minister remarked that this significant day serves as a reminder of the profound heritage associated with this revered Hola Mohalla festival, which embodies the great philosophy of the 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh and his commitment to instill the eternal spirit of wellbeing (chardi kala).
He expressed that participating in this festival was a divine experience for him, symbolizing the martial spirit prevalent among Punjabis and especially within the Sikh community.
He felt privileged to bow at this sacred city of Anandpur Sahib, which was founded by the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, in 1665, who gave his life to uphold human dignity and rights.
Moreover, he highlighted that this venerated location is also recognized as the birthplace of Khalsa, as in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth at this sacred site during the historic occasion of Baisakhi.
Mann asserted that this holy land has continually inspired Punjabis to resist tyranny, oppression, and injustice while reinforcing the principles of communal harmony and brotherhood.
He indicated that the government draws a sense of duty and a spirit of service toward humanity by adhering to the legacies of the great Sikh Gurus.
"It is a matter of great pride and honor that Punjab is the only state where there is a harmonious blend of socialism and secularism on one hand, and a model of communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood on the other," Mann stated.
The Chief Minister, who prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity, also expressed his hope that the values of communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood are further reinforced in the state with each passing day.
