Punjab's CM Unveils Rs 75 Crore Development Initiative for Nangal
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, March 31 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced a substantial Rs 75 crore development package on Tuesday, which includes a Rs 23 crore center of excellence dedicated to Kargil martyr Captain Amol Kalia, alongside significant enhancements in the educational infrastructure of Nangal town.
He stated that those responsible for the escalation of the drug trade and the deterioration of Punjab's social structure will never be absolved, emphasizing that the populace has decisively opted for a governance model centered on integrity, employment, and infrastructure development.
While inaugurating the development initiatives, CM Mann remarked, “The Akalis must be held accountable for the destruction of generations, as they facilitated the drug trade, which thrived under their prolonged reign. Their hands are stained with the blood of countless youth who succumbed to drugs transported in official vehicles. These transgressions are unforgivable, and the people will never pardon them for their extensive history of wrongdoings.”
Criticizing the Akali leaders, he stated that they have long deceived the public by presenting themselves as farmers. He questioned how any legitimate food producer could amass a fleet of buses and a luxurious hotel in Gurgaon. This wealth was acquired by compromising the interests of the state and its citizens for their political agendas.
“Sukhbir Badal has become alienated from the populace and is relying on paid workers to fabricate crowds at rallies. The same individuals appear at each Akali gathering. Confounded by the exceptional work executed by the state government, he is resorting to baseless and nonsensical claims. His unrealistic aspirations of regaining power are futile,” asserted CM Mann.
Reflecting on past events, he pointed out that the former Deputy Chief Minister boasts about extensive development during their tenure while ignoring incidents such as Kotakpura and Behbal Kalan, where the Guru Granth Sahib was disrespected and innocents lost their lives. These atrocities occurred under their administration, and they seem to believe that the public will forget these incidents, which is far from the truth.
“Their family was complicit in these acts. Their so-called ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ is merely a ‘Parivar Bachao Yatra’. After plundering the state for 15 years, they need to clarify who they are attempting to save Punjab from. The Akalis have ruthlessly exploited the state, damaging the emotional well-being of Punjabis and endorsing various criminal organizations,” the Chief Minister concluded.
