Kolkata, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Indian Railways' “Amrit Bharat Station Project” stands as one of the largest initiatives globally aimed at the renovation and enhancement of railway stations throughout India.

This ambitious project, launched by the Central government, aims to refurbish and modernize over 1,000 railway stations nationwide.

In West Bengal, several railway stations are set to receive significant upgrades, much to the delight of train commuters and local residents who perceive this initiative as a transformational change that establishes new benchmarks in cleanliness and hygiene.

The last major change occurred with the inception of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ a decade ago.

In Nadia district, both Krishnanagar and Bethuadahari railway stations are earmarked for major enhancements under the Amrit Bharat Station Project.

Reports indicate that Rs 27.5 crore and Rs 30 crore have been allocated for the renovations of Krishnanagar Railway Station and Bethuadahari Railway Station, respectively.

This comprehensive project aims to establish modern infrastructure, enhance passenger amenities, and make the stations more accessible.

Renovation work is advancing swiftly at both stations.

Upon completion, passengers will enjoy upgraded facilities, contemporary designs, and improved infrastructure.

In Sealdah district, Naihati station has also been selected for redevelopment.

This key railway junction, which connects multiple routes, is set for a remarkable transformation in the near future, promising a unique experience for train travelers.

Local residents of Naihati are thrilled about the project, while small business owners are hopeful about their “changing fortunes” post-refurbishment.

Many passengers expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating this significant change.

A passenger shared with IANS, “A huge plan is underway, and this is a good thing. It is good news for us. We are very happy with the great work that our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) is doing for our country.”

Another traveler noted, “It will definitely feel good for me and everyone else. If Naihati becomes an Amrit Bharat Station, we will get a variety of services and benefits. This will drastically change our lives.”

It is important to highlight that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a long-term strategy intended to enhance railway stations across the nation.

Under this initiative, meticulous plans are crafted for each station, and upgrades are executed in phases according to the specific needs of each location.

The primary objective is to create cleaner, more comfortable, and user-friendly railway stations. This includes enhancements to entry and exit points, waiting areas, restroom facilities, platforms, and roofing.
