Raj Kundra Misses ED Hearing, New Summons Issued for Wednesday

Mumbai, Dec 2 (NationPress) Businessman Raj Kundra did not appear for a hearing with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday and has been called again for a session on Wednesday, as per sources.

Kundra, who is the spouse of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, was summoned in relation to the initial ED investigation concerning alleged money laundering associated with a pornography scandal that was revealed by Mumbai Police in February 2021.

Despite the summons, he requested additional time and has thus received a new notification requiring his presence for the inquiry on December 4.

Both Kundra and actress Gehana Vashisht, who has been summoned for December 9, were anticipated to visit the ED office to share financial information regarding the pornographic operation and clarify their specific involvement.

The recent summons from the ED followed a weekend raid on at least eight locations associated with Kundra and others.

The ED is additionally investigating a significant scam related to a Bitcoin Ponzi scheme valued at thousands of crores, which is allegedly connected to Kundra.

Following the revelation of the pornography scandal by Mumbai Police and the filing of an FIR in February 2021, the ED began its investigation into the money laundering elements in May 2022.

The police have asserted that Kundra and others were allegedly operating a pornographic racket, distributing the content via specific applications.

Kundra was arrested in July 2021 and remained in custody for several months before being granted bail in September 2021.
