Jaipur, Oct 27 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday for what the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) described as a courtesy visit.
On his social media platform X, CM Sharma stated, "Today, in New Delhi, I had the privilege of a courtesy meeting with the architect of a developed India, the illustrious Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, and received his affectionate blessings and inspirational guidance."
"The company of the Prime Minister always inspires me to advance in the realm of public service. Under his visionary leadership, our government is entirely devoted to the comprehensive development of the state and public welfare while actualizing the vision of #aapnoagraniRajasthan," he added.
The meeting, which lasted approximately an hour, concentrated on significant developmental matters and ongoing projects in Rajasthan.
This was CM Sharma’s inaugural meeting with the Prime Minister post-Diwali. During their discussion, the two leaders assessed the progress of central government-funded projects and ongoing developmental initiatives across the state.
CM Sharma provided the Prime Minister with updates on various welfare and infrastructure schemes being executed in Rajasthan with central support, according to officials.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister returned to Jodhpur House in Delhi. He is also slated to meet several other senior leaders during his visit. During this meeting, CM Sharma extended a formal invitation to PM Modi to attend the upcoming Rajasthani Pravasi Diwas, scheduled for December 10.
The event, organized for the first time by the Rajasthan government, aspires to fortify the connection between the state and the global Rajasthani community while promoting investment and collaboration in various sectors, according to officials. This was CM Sharma’s third meeting with PM Modi in three months.
The two previously convened on July 29 at Parliament House. Subsequently, on September 25, PM Modi visited Banswara, accompanied by CM Sharma and BJP State President Madan Rathore.
However, this meeting is also perceived through a political lens. Despite the formation of the BJP government in Rajasthan, a Cabinet expansion has yet to occur. This has sparked speculation that CM Sharma and PM Modi might have discussed this issue during their meeting.
It is also noteworthy that CM Sharma's government will mark two years in office on December 15, and in this context, he is believed to have briefed the PM on the government’s performance and key initiatives undertaken over the past two years.
