Jaipur, Dec 17 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited Ahor on Wednesday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development initiatives, which included new roads, a government college, and a girls' hostel. During a public address, he aimed sharp criticisms at the Congress, accusing them of making protests a habitual aspect of their political strategy.

"If you possess data, enlighten me on the amount of work you (referring to Congress) accomplished versus our achievements," he stated. The Chief Minister further suggested that if the opposition couldn't perceive development, they should attend the eye camps being held in government schools across Rajasthan, where eye examinations and spectacles are being distributed.

"I can't alter your perspective, but poor eyesight is a treatable condition," he quipped.

Numerous BJP leaders, including Jogeshwar Garg and Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit, were present alongside the Chief Minister at the event.

However, the visit was met with protests from Congress supporters, who shouted slogans against both the Chief Minister and the state government. Subsequently, police detained several protestors.

The Congress members gathered at the entrance of the Government Sports Ground in Ahor to present a memorandum outlining their grievances.

Among those detained were several leaders, including District Congress President Ramila Meghwal, Women’s Wing District President Santosh Kanwar, Saroj Chaudhary, PCC member Sawaram Patel, Um Singh Chandrai, and former District President Bhanwarlal Meghwal.

They were taken to a private hotel located approximately five kilometers from the event site.

During the protest, PCC member Um Singh Chandrai reported that his wallet, containing around Rs 12,000–13,000 in cash and important documents, was stolen.

In his address, CM Sharma unveiled development projects valued at Rs 75.38 crore for Ahor and Jalore.

He laid the groundwork for approximately 17 km of roads connecting various villages, including Un to Bhaiswara, Bhagli Purohitan to Ahor, and Harji to the Sirohi border.

Additional projects announced encompassed a 33/11 kV power sub-station at Hemagudha costing Rs 2.85 crore, a 4 MW solar power plant under the PM Kusum Yojana-C, development works worth Rs 8.80 crore at the Government Agriculture College in Keshavana, and a girls' hostel for backward classes in Sanchore at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore.

The Chief Minister's helicopter landed at the playground helipad at 2 p.m., where he received a warm welcome from Jalore MLA and Assembly Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg, Ahor MLA Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit, and other BJP leaders.
