Jaipur, May 26 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Congress held a significant ‘Jai Hind’ rally in Jaipur on Monday, raising questions about the Union government's approach to Operation Sindoor.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, along with other party leaders, were present at the event.
“If the situation was favorable, why was the war abruptly halted? Donald Trump posted on X, and we ceased our operations. Who grants America the right to dictate terms to India?” Gehlot questioned.
He claimed that a perilous game initiated with the ceasefire and expressed skepticism about Trump’s leadership.
“The four terrorists involved in the gunfire remain at large. What is the BJP celebrating? What is the purpose of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’?” he asked.
Gehlot criticized the BJP-RSS, stating they have consistently opposed third-party intervention regarding Kashmir. “How can they now accept a ceasefire brokered by Trump? These are the same individuals who have not raised the Tricolour at their Nagpur headquarters for the past 80 years,” he remarked.
He highlighted that BJP leaders in Jaipur were spotted misusing the Tricolour during their rally.
“The BJP and RSS aim to eradicate the Tricolour, but it is beyond their control. They aspire to replace the Tricolour with the RSS flag as the national flag of India,” Gehlot asserted.
Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister Pilot emphasized the nation's collective trust in the Indian armed forces.
“Our rally is a tribute to the soldiers. Whenever the country faces challenges, our forces triumph over adversaries. We did not question how terrorists infiltrated Pahalgam, yet Trump announces a ceasefire out of the blue. We seek clarity on the conditions under which India consented to this ceasefire. The government owes us answers,” Pilot stated.
Earlier, Gehlot, along with other Congress leaders, paid homage to the families of army personnel who lost their lives during Operation Sindoor, presenting them with citations and shawls.
Rajasthan in-charge Sukhvinder Singh Randhawa criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for halting border development projects.
“We can only confront Pakistan when our border regions are developed. These areas represent our first line of defense,” he said.
Opposition Leader Tika Ram Jully remarked that even former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi stood firm against China, successfully integrating Arunachal Pradesh into India.
“PM Modi has traveled to 89 countries, yet when we confronted terror, not a single one stood with us while China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan supported Pakistan,” he stated.
Jully further accused PM Modi of capitulating to Trump.
