Jaipur, Oct 25 (NationPress) A significant meeting convened at the Rajasthan Police Headquarters on Saturday, led by Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma, aimed at enhancing measures against organised criminal gangs operating throughout the state.
Attending the meeting were senior officers from districts and ranges most affected by organised crime, including Superintendents of Police, Range Inspectors, and heads of specialized units.
The discussion centred on identifying active gangs, dismantling their networks, and ensuring prompt and effective legal action.
DGP Rajiv Sharma reiterated that the Rajasthan Police is committed to a zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime.
“Our foremost aim is to deter criminals and foster a sense of security within the community. Every police officer must exert their utmost effort to accomplish this objective,” he stressed.
He reaffirmed the department's dedication to public safety and effectively addressing all crime forms through coordinated and innovative policing.
DGP Sharma instructed that actions should extend beyond individual criminals to encompass entire networks involved in threats, extortion, and intimidation.
Furthermore, he mandated the identification and legal proceedings against all members of organised gangs, implementing strict measures under Section 111 of the CrPC against active gang members to undermine their morale, seizing properties and financial assets of gang leaders and their affiliates, and acting decisively against those aiding or promoting gang activities, including on social media.
The DGP stressed the importance of teamwork and inter-district collaboration, urging the use of technology and intelligence-sharing to comprehensively neutralise gangs. The meeting also reviewed pending cases involving firing, murder, and threats.
The DGP directed that prioritization be given to arrests in pending cases and that special campaigns be launched to track down absconding criminals. He instructed district units to file charge sheets without delay and to scrutinize threat-related complaints from various areas.
“No threats or climate of fear instigated by criminals will be tolerated at any level,” asserted DGP Sharma.
Senior officers contributed insights and action strategies: ADG (AGTF) Dinesh M.N. presented a comprehensive plan identifying gang members, their activities, and the corresponding action framework.
ADG Biju George Joseph emphasized the necessity of systematically tracking and apprehending each criminal.
ADG (Crime Branch) Hawa Singh outlined tactics for revisiting past cases and dismantling gang networks.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal highlighted the need to maintain and share detailed criminal records for coordinated action.
