Jagjit Singh, whose father is Sarabjit Singh, also hails from the Telco police station area in East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand. The investigation revealed that Jagjit and Karan Kumar were friends from school and college.
ADG Singh indicated that previous inquiries had led to the arrest of Sandeep Kandiyan, a resident of Bajana Khurd, Ganaur, who was detained in Khanpur, Sonipat.
During questioning, it was uncovered that Sandeep had communicated with Karan Kumar regarding the provision of the answer key for the Jail Prahari Recruitment Examination. Following this lead, Karan Kumar was taken into custody in Dehradun and arrested on March 23.
