Rajasthan Police Launches Statewide Sweep, Arresting 214 Criminals in Major Operation

The well-coordinated operation led to the apprehension of 214 criminals and the confiscation of a significant cache of illegal firearms, drugs, vehicles, and electronic devices.
According to the Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma, this operation aimed at establishing a fear-free environment within the state by dismantling criminal networks involved in illegal arms trafficking, extortion, and other severe crimes.
Early Sunday morning saw the initiation of a large-scale cordon-and-search operation targeting districts such as the Jaipur and Jodhpur Commissionerates.
During the crackdown, law enforcement focused on 383 criminals affiliated with the Rohit Godara and Lawrence gangs, while also identifying 534 individuals from local gangs and tracing 359 wanted criminals.
Police teams executed thorough raids at several hideouts and compiled detailed dossiers and interrogation notes for 428 gang members to support future measures against these crime networks.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 214 absconders and wanted criminals, specifically including 11 wanted individuals, 157 warrant offenders, and 46 additional criminals. Additionally, 32 vehicles, 19 mobile phones, and various electronic devices were seized as evidence.
Under the Arms Act, 30 cases were registered leading to the recovery of 17 pistols, 3 homemade pistols, 14 cartridges, 6 knives, and 6 daggers.
In terms of drug-related cases, 34 cases were opened under the NDPS Act, resulting in the confiscation of 1.166 kg of heroin, 8.544 grams of smack, 5.29 grams of MD, 300 grams of opium, 14.792 kg of marijuana, and 26.08 kg of poppy husk.
Moreover, 8,153 opium plants were eradicated in the Jhunjhunu district. During a blockade in Hanumangarh, two members of the Bambiha gang were arrested, and authorities seized 11 pistols along with 22 magazines.
These firearms were reportedly being transported from Indore to Punjab. A raid in Churu district at the residence of a notorious criminal uncovered illicit liquor, financial documents from 12 banks, and Rs 5.30 lakh in cash.
In a significant move, a gang member residing abroad was arrested while allegedly attempting to orchestrate a serious crime in the Kuchaman area with an illegal firearm.
Operations across Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Kotputli-Behror facilitated the identification of numerous criminals and the creation of multiple dossiers, complemented by substantial narcotics recoveries.
Extensive actions in Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu led to numerous NDPS cases and large quantities of heroin and poppy husk being seized.
Raids conducted in Jodhpur city, its rural areas, and Phalodi targeted over 200 criminals, yielding arrests and the recovery of illegal drugs and firearms.
Further operations in Ajmer, Nagaur, and Didwana-Kuchaman resulted in the capture of wanted criminals and the seizure of marijuana and vehicles.
Action against 119 identified criminals culminated in several Arms Act and NDPS cases, leading to the recovery of weapons and narcotics. Additionally, 187 habitual offenders were detained under Section 170 of the BNSS as a preventive measure against organised crime.
DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma declared that this simultaneous statewide operation has significantly disrupted organised crime networks.
