Rajasthan Police Initiates 'Operation Cyber Shield' to Address Cyber Crimes

Jaipur, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Cyber Crime Branch of the Rajasthan Police has officially commenced a targeted initiative, 'Operation Cyber Shield', designed to confront cyber crimes, apprehend wrongdoers, and elevate public awareness.

This initiative will be active from January 2 to January 31, overseen by Director General of Police (DGP) Utkal Ranjan Sahu.

The campaign's goal is to dismantle the infrastructure supporting organized cyber-enabled financial crimes within the state and to address the escalating cyber threats.

Additionally, the campaign focuses on resolving cyber crime cases, addressing public grievances, and fostering awareness about cyber security among citizens.

DGP Cyber Crime Hemant Priyadarshi has delineated seven primary focus areas for this month-long campaign, which encompasses addressing complaints. This includes handling cases reported via the cyber crime portal and helpline 1930.

The initial phase of the campaign involves blocking suspicious activities aimed at identifying and deactivating fraudulent SIM cards and IMEI numbers.

The subsequent phase involves Hotspot Mapping to identify and monitor regions with elevated risks for cyber crimes.

Another critical step is the apprehension of offenders, focusing on arresting individuals with outstanding warrants and identifying proclaimed offenders, as well as recovering lost devices to return stolen or misplaced mobile phones to their rightful owners.

Promoting Cyber Awareness through initiatives to educate the public on cyber threats and preventive measures is yet another vital aspect of this month-long campaign.

Officials have indicated that the seventh step is to develop a comprehensive database containing information on known cyber criminals.

Detailed guidelines have been distributed to senior police officials across various districts and ranges to facilitate the campaign's effectiveness.

Citizens are urged to report any suspicious cyber activities to their local police, the cyber security helpline (1930), the national cyber crime portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in), or the Rajasthan Police helpline at 0141-2741322.

The Rajasthan Police is dedicated to protecting citizens from cyber threats and ensuring a secure digital landscape for everyone, as stated by officials.
