Jaipur, July 31 (NationPress) Following the tragic incidents in Rajasthan's Jhalawar and Jaisalmer, the state government has taken decisive action by locking and sealing unsafe school buildings. Teachers are now empowered to declare holidays if they find the educational facilities to be hazardous.
State Education Minister Madan Dilawar has issued strong directives to prioritize the safety of students and staff, especially during the current monsoon season.
In a robust statement, Minister Dilawar mandated that all dilapidated school structures be locked and sealed without delay.
He stressed that the safety of children is non-negotiable and that classes should not take place in unsafe environments.
Rooms exhibiting signs of damage are to be marked in red and secured to prevent unauthorized access.
"Teachers should act immediately without waiting for official orders when it comes to children's safety. They have the full authority to take such actions," the minister emphasized.
With numerous villages experiencing floods and waterlogged school grounds, the government has also instructed District Collectors to declare school holidays as necessary. Several districts have already implemented such measures.

In Jaisalmer, a tragic incident occurred where a nine-year-old student lost her life when the main gate of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Habur (Poonamnagar) village collapsed.
