Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday, 27 June chaired a high-level review meeting at his official residence in Jaipur, directing departments to complete all preparations for the launch of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural), popularly called the VB-G Ram Ji Scheme, ahead of its statewide rollout on 1 July. The Chief Minister simultaneously issued strict instructions for the effective functioning of Rural and Urban Service Camps, warning that negligent officials would face action.

What the VB-G Ram Ji Scheme Entails

Chief Minister Sharma described the scheme as a transformative employment initiative designed to accelerate rural livelihood generation and bring Rajasthan closer to the Viksit Rajasthan–2047 vision. The mission is the state-level implementation of the broader Viksit Bharat employment guarantee framework, with a focus on rural communities. Departments have been asked to ensure all operational arrangements are in place before the 1 July launch date, leaving no room for procedural delays.

Service Camps: Grievances Must Be Resolved Permanently

Sharma directed officials to treat the Rural and Urban Service Camps as result-oriented platforms rather than procedural exercises. He emphasised that grievances related to roads, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, and revenue matters must be resolved permanently — not deferred or partially addressed. Officials were instructed to prepare district-wise lists of both newly received and long-pending cases to enable systematic disposal and continuous monitoring. Long-pending revenue cases in rural areas were singled out for top priority, so that villagers receive timely relief without repeated visits to government offices.

The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, senior officials from the Chief Minister's Office, and representatives from the Urban Development and Local Self-Government Department, the Revenue Department, and the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. The breadth of departmental representation signals that the scheme's implementation cuts across multiple administrative verticals.

MSME Push on International MSME Day

Separately, on the occasion of International MSME Day, Chief Minister Sharma unveiled a package of policy initiatives targeting Rajasthan's industrial and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Announcements included dedicated Haats for artisans and weavers, new incentives for the electronics and semiconductor sectors under RIPS-2024, financial support for 25 startups through the Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund, and the launch of the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy. The Chief Minister also distributed financial assistance worth over ₹13 crore along with RIICO land allotment letters to beneficiaries. Sharma reiterated that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Rajasthan's economic growth, employment generation, and self-reliance, and reaffirmed the government's commitment to youth entrepreneurship and enhancing the global visibility of local products.
