Rajasthan's DGP Implements Ban on SI Training Following High Court Ruling
Jaipur, Jan 11 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP), Utkal Ranjan Sahu, has issued directives to cease the field training of trainee Sub-Inspectors (SIs) statewide, adhering to the High Court's order from Thursday that imposed a complete ban on such training and postings.

Jaipur, Jan 11 (NationPress) The Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan, Utkal Ranjan Sahu, has mandated the suspension of field training for trainee Sub-Inspectors (SIs) across the state, in response to a ruling from the High Court issued on Thursday, which entirely prohibits the training and deployment of trainee SIs.

The High Court is presently reviewing a case concerning the SI Recruitment Exam 2021.

In this context, the court has directed the Police headquarters to freeze all training and appointments for SIs and Police Constables (PCs) who were selected through the recruitment process.

Per the DGP's directive, all trainee SIs and PCs are required to remain at their designated district or battalion headquarters without engaging in duties or training until further notice.

Measures will be implemented to ensure their presence at the headquarters.

On November 18, the Rajasthan High Court barred the posting of candidates selected from the SI Recruitment Exam 2021.

Notwithstanding, the state government continued with the postings for trainee SIs.

Nonetheless, a trainee SI was suspended after being held in Special Operations Group (SOG) custody for over 48 hours.

Following the state government's reply on January 9, the High Court enforced a comprehensive ban on training and postings associated with the recruitment.

The SI recruitment examination has been marred by accusations of malpractice, including a leaked question paper and the presence of dummy candidates during the examination.

Investigations by the SOG revealed that numerous candidates obtained positions through illicit methods.

To date, approximately 50 trainee SIs have been apprehended, with 25 of them receiving bail from the High Court.

The High Court's prohibition on the posting and training of trainee SIs was enacted on Thursday as the state government asserted that it could not annul the SI Recruitment Examination-2021 while providing its response in the Rajasthan High Court (Jaipur bench) on Thursday (January 9).

The case was heard in the court presided over by Justice Sameer Jain.

The court has now instituted a ban on any training and postings in this recruitment.

The next court hearing regarding this matter is scheduled for February 10.

Previously, the Additional Advocate General of the Rajasthan government, Vigyan Shah, provided a response in court.

"We have apprehended those involved in the paper leak and have suspended around 40 trainee SIs who were dummy candidates and engaged in copying during the examination. Currently, the recruitment cannot be annulled."

In response to the state government’s assertions, Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena stated that the head of the state government should be queried on this matter, as only the Chief Minister possesses the authority to overturn the committee's decision.
