Rajasthan Police Implements Heightened Security for SI Recruitment Exam
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 4 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Police have implemented stringent security protocols to ensure that the Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Examination, taking place statewide on Sunday and Monday, is executed with maximum integrity and transparency. With approximately 7.7 lakh candidates expected to participate, the state police issued a public advisory via its X account, cautioning: "Cheating is not a shortcut to success—it is a direct route to jail."
This advisory includes a serious warning aimed at individuals and groups seeking to sell purported "cheating materials" or "fake question papers" online. Law enforcement has made it abundantly clear that rigorous legal repercussions will follow for anyone engaged in such activities.
Notably, the caution extends beyond the sellers; candidates who buy or attempt to use these fraudulent materials will also encounter severe legal repercussions.
In light of previous incidents involving paper leaks and organized cheating syndicates, the Rajasthan Police Headquarters has declared a high alert across 26 districts. Special teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have been deployed to oversee and thwart any attempts to disrupt the examination process. The police have identified fugitive cheating gangs as a significant threat, prompting the SOG to announce a reward of Rs 1 lakh for credible leads regarding individuals or groups involved in examination fraud.
At the examination venues, officials are intensifying efforts to prevent impersonation, including biometric verification of candidates, thorough checks of identity documents, and increased police presence on-site. Additionally, there is enhanced technical surveillance on coaching centers, cyber operators, e-Mitra facilities, and suspected members of cheating syndicates.
All District Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been instructed to work closely with Station House Officers (SHOs) and maintain strict vigilance around examination locations. Extra forces will be stationed at sensitive centers identified to deter any disruptions. To uphold strict control in exam zones, authorities have mandated the closure of all cyber cafes and e-Mitra centers within a 100-meter radius of examination sites during the exam period.
Director General of Police Rajiv Sharma has cautioned that any attempts at engaging in unfair practices will result in the most severe legal action.
RPSC Secretary Ramniwas Mehta reiterated that offenders will face charges under the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2022. This law stipulates that the minimum sentence is 10 years in prison, with a maximum of life imprisonment. Fines can range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 10 crore, with recovery of the full examination cost from offenders, and confiscation of illegally obtained assets.
Authorities aim to conduct the SI Recruitment Exam 2025 devoid of any irregularities through extensive surveillance, legal deterrence, and collaborative policing efforts, marking a significant step towards restoring confidence in the recruitment process, according to officials.
