These comprehensive plans will integrate the future needs and recommendations from various community segments, including women, youth, farmers, and economically disadvantaged groups, ensuring they embody the desires of the populace.
During a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday, which focused on the budget announcement campaign for preparing master plans for gram panchayats and urban wards, the Chief Minister emphasized that these plans should be structured into short-term, medium-term, and long-term phases to systematically cater to the needs of the expanding population.
The primary goal of these master plans is to promote organized development in rural regions, which will help mitigate migration from villages and alleviate the pressure on urban areas.
The Chief Minister also set forth guidelines for including essential services such as education, healthcare, electricity, water supply, roads, and sanitation in the master plans, utilizing an evidence-based approach.
Additionally, Sharma highlighted the importance of considering the traditions, crafts, and cultural, as well as historical significance of rural areas while preparing these plans.
While maintaining a focus on the fundamental principles of development, the plans should also strive to preserve heritage and enhance the social and cultural frameworks of villages.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the plans should prioritize the creation of job opportunities in rural areas, enabling residents to secure improved livelihood options locally.
During the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the master plans will be sanctioned through Gram Sabhas as part of the proposed campaign.
Once approved, relevant departments can formulate effective policies, programs, and development strategies.
The plans will also emphasize major employment sources, strategies to boost agricultural productivity, and the promotion of self-employment opportunities.
Eligible beneficiaries will be identified to ensure their participation in various government welfare initiatives.
