Jaipur, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Medical and Health Department has implemented strict measures after uncovering discrepancies within the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), filing FIRs against four pharmacies and suspending two others from the program in the last week.
Officials reported that actions were initiated against a total of six pharmacies. In addition to the FIRs and suspensions, 14 employees have been dismissed, and letters have been sent to relevant departments requesting disciplinary action and recovery from 19 RGHS cardholders who improperly benefited from the scheme.
Gayatri Rathore, the Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, stated that the state government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against any form of irregularity, corruption, or misuse within public welfare schemes like RGHS.
She emphasized that rigorous action will be taken against all involved parties and noted that ongoing efforts are being made to improve transparency and effectively combat discrepancies, including filing FIRs and employing technological solutions to further fortify the scheme.
Harjilal Atal, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, mentioned that FIRs have been lodged against Harikrishna Medical Store and Sawariya Pharma Store in Bhilwara for significant irregularities.
He added that the Additional Drug Controller has revoked the drug licenses of both stores. These pharmacies allegedly fraudulently received payments under the RGHS scheme by falsely asserting the sale of medications and injections that were never procured, illegally obtaining about Rs 27 lakh.
Moreover, FIRs have also been filed against Confed Pharma Store at Ren and Jayal in the Nagaur district for manipulating RGHS prescriptions and illegitimately claiming payments.
Due to severe irregularities, Confed Pharma Shop No. 06 in Bikaner and Shop No. 05 in Hanumangarh have been suspended from the RGHS scheme.
Additional Chief Executive Officer Nidhi Patel remarked that in instances of RGHS card misuse by beneficiaries, letters have been dispatched to the respective departments for disciplinary action and recovery against 19 beneficiaries.
