Rajeev Chandrasekhar Accuses Congress of Masking Failures by Blaming ECI and EVMs

New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed strong criticism on Saturday towards the 'fraudulent' Congress for its accusations against the Election Commission of India and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) regarding its electoral defeats in Maharashtra. He stated that these claims are simply a strategy to mask their shortcomings.

In an interview with IANS, the former NDA minister remarked that instead of focusing on refining their ideology, Congress is deflecting blame onto the judiciary, EVMs, and the electoral body for their losses.

"Congress leaders are aware that EVMs are significantly more reliable than ballot papers, which previously allowed for issues like booth fixing and ballot tampering," he noted.

Chandrasekhar also highlighted the internal divisions within the Congress party, particularly regarding the call for a return to ballot papers, suggesting that differing opinions are surfacing as many leaders are hesitant to speak untruths.

He accused the Congress party of employing a 'divide and rule' strategy and urged its members to confront the reality of their situation instead of blaming constitutional bodies for their failures.

During a recent meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge mentioned that the public is turning away from the party leadership, necessitating a new approach.

In a notable development, Kharge indicated during the CWC meeting that 'harsh measures' might be needed following the 'unexpected' outcomes in the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections. He emphasized the need to address the party's structural weaknesses.

The CWC also passed a resolution voicing concerns over the perceived threats to the electoral process's integrity, declaring that the party would soon initiate a movement in response to the 'misuse' of electoral systems.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, he stated, "The key issue I constantly highlight is that our lack of cohesion and conflicting statements severely undermine us. If we do not contest elections as a united front and refrain from criticizing one another, our solidarity will be compromised."
