New Delhi, March 10 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and a revamped training framework during the launch of a vision document focused on military reforms.

At an event held in South Block, New Delhi, he unveiled the document titled ‘Defence Forces Vision 2047: A Roadmap for a Future-Ready Indian Military’. This detailed plan, prepared by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, aims to evolve the Defence Forces into a contemporary, integrated, and technologically sophisticated military that aligns with India’s goal of becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Notable attendees included Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, along with other senior officials.

The vision document delineates the necessary strategic reforms, capacity improvements, and structural adjustments required within the Defence Forces to effectively adapt to the changing geostrategic, technological, and security landscape, as stated in the announcement.

It envisions a transformation of the military into an integrated, multi-domain, and agile force, capable of deterring adversaries, engaging across the full range of conflict, and safeguarding expanding strategic interests amidst swiftly evolving global and regional dynamics.

A cornerstone of this vision is the focus on jointness and synergy among the Services, fostering enhanced coordination in planning, operations, and capability development.

The document also underscores the critical role of innovation, advanced technologies, and a modern training framework to cultivate a military adaptable to future warfare challenges.

Furthermore, it places significant emphasis on Aatmanirbharta in defence, advocating for the development and implementation of indigenous technologies and solutions designed to meet the nation’s unique security needs.

Enhancing domestic defence manufacturing and technological capabilities is anticipated to improve operational readiness while also bolstering national growth, as affirmed by the Ministry of Defence.

The vision document outlines a structured roadmap with clearly defined capability objectives for short-term, mid-term, and long-term timelines. This organized strategy will steer the development of essential military capabilities, institutional reforms, and strategic partnerships necessary for establishing a world-class defence force.
