Key Takeaways
Lucknow, April 11 (NationPress) On Saturday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that India continues to be among the world's most rapidly expanding major economies, despite facing various global geopolitical hurdles.
During his address at an event in Lucknow, he highlighted that the aspiration of achieving Viksit Bharat@2047 can only be fulfilled through collective effort.
"Viksit Bharat signifies a community where individuals honor their responsibilities toward one another, adhering to the principle that 'no one should be left behind' in our developmental journey," he stated, as per a social media announcement.
As the Defence Minister, he expressed his pride in Lucknow's substantial contributions to the defence sector.
"It is a source of pride that Lucknow has been designated as a Defence Node alongside Agra and Kanpur," he remarked.
He also noted that the BrahMos missile is now being produced in Lucknow, with the initial batch already delivered to the army. Additionally, numerous factories, both large and small, focused on defence equipment manufacturing, are being established in the city.
Earlier, at the Annual Celebration of the Jan Kalyan Maha Samiti in Gomti Nagar, he reflected on how Uttar Pradesh, once labeled a "BIMARU" state, is now celebrated as "Uttam Pradesh."
He pointed out the transformation of the state from a haven for mafias to a place now thriving with saints and ascetics.
Rajnath Singh also referenced the ongoing holistic development in the state, particularly in Lucknow.
He mentioned the Lucknow Culture and Art Museum, situated at the Hussainabad Clock Tower, as a noble initiative to connect future generations with their heritage.
"This museum will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history of Awadh, the region's exceptional craftsmanship, and its diverse culture," he noted.
This museum is expected not only to elevate Lucknow's cultural prestige but also to boost local employment opportunities for shopkeepers and artisans, according to a statement from the Union Minister.
He announced the construction of National Highway Number 927, which will extend from Barabanki, near the Outer Ring Road, to Bahraich. This four-lane route, along with a corresponding service road, will span 101 kilometers.
Approximately Rs 7,000 crore will be allocated for this initiative, significantly reducing travel time from Barabanki to Bahraich from 2.5 hours to just 1.25 hours.
Furthermore, a new corridor for the development of the State Capital Region will also be established along this road.
