Kolkata, May 10 (NationPress) The esteemed Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math (RKM), established by Swami Vivekananda, expressed their support for the Indian government's initiative known as "Operation Sindoor". This operation was initiated following the tragic killing of 25 tourists, including a local resident, at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani terrorists last month.

During a sampling-distribution program conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at RKM's headquarters located in Belur, adjacent to Howrah in West Bengal, Swami Subirananda Maharaj, General Secretary of RKM, stated that India’s lack of retaliation in the current situation would have constituted an offense.

He urged citizens to unite in support of the nation and the government at this critical juncture, emphasizing, "This is not merely the government's battle; it is the struggle of every individual. If any outsider attempts to invade the sacred land of Mother India, the sons and daughters of the soil will undoubtedly fight back."

He also recounted the wisdom of Swami Vivekananda, who articulated that the "welfare of India is synonymous with the welfare of its people".

"Swamiji asserted that even the dust of India is sacred. If anyone seeks to harm our homeland, we are obliged to retaliate. There is nothing wrong in doing so from both classical and spiritual perspectives," the RKM General Secretary added.

He reiterated that failing to respond would have been an affront to the nation. "We do not only endorse the Indian government's retaliatory actions, but we also pray for their success. This is a battle against evil forces, a struggle between civilization and barbarism," he concluded.

Point of View

I believe the Ramakrishna Mission's support for 'Operation Sindoor' reflects a broader national sentiment. In times of crisis, standing together is paramount.
