Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jammu, January 23 (NationPress) The proprietors of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, shops, and various business establishments within J&K's Reasi district have been mandated to provide the authorities with comprehensive information about their employees.
This directive was issued by the Additional District Magistrate of Reasi, invoking Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
The notice highlighted that Reasi is home to two esteemed shrines, namely the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine at Katra and the Shri Shiv Khori shrine at Ransoo, which attract numerous pilgrims from across the nation daily. In response to this influx, the local business community has established a variety of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, dhabas, shopping centers, and other commercial ventures to serve these visitors, employing numerous staff to manage their operations.
The order emphasized that, considering this context, it is essential to implement precautionary measures to avert any potential incidents and to verify the identities of employees engaged by these commercial entities for the safety of both the public and the pilgrims visiting the sacred sites.
"Therefore, by virtue of the authority granted to me under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, I, Rakesh Kumar (JKAS), Additional District Magistrate, Reasi, hereby command that all owners of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, dhabas, shopping centers, and other commercial entities in District Reasi submit details of their employees, including name, parentage, age, residential address, Aadhaar number, and mobile number, to their respective police stations and concerned tehsildars within 39 days (both hard and soft copies)," the order specified.
"Given the urgency of this order, it is being issued ex parte, without prior notice," the directive added.
The order also cautioned that any non-compliance would result in punitive measures under Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, and charged the Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, with ensuring enforcement of this order "in both letter and spirit."
