New Delhi, Jan 26 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu officiated the 77th Republic Day festivities at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, by hoisting the national flag, leading the nation in the observance of this significant day.
The National Flag was raised with the National Anthem playing in the background, followed by a resounding 21-gun salute delivered through homegrown 105-mm Light Field Guns.

The Prime Minister and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended a warm welcome to Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan.
This year’s Republic Day Parade uniquely showcased 150 years of 'Vande Mataram', highlighted India’s military strength, featuring the BrahMos and Akash missiles, and celebrated rich cultural diversity through 30 vibrant tableaux.
This event marks the first Republic Day Parade since Operation Sindoor last year and promises an extraordinary display of military prowess with state-of-the-art defense platforms and a stunning flypast involving 29 aircraft.
The flypast included formations of Rafale, Su-30, P8i, C-295, Mig-29, Apache, LCH, ALH, and Mi-17.
The Republic Parade will also feature advanced defense technologies and an extraordinary cultural performance by 2,500 artists, celebrating 'Vande Mataram' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
Additionally, participants of 'Mann ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio program, will join construction workers from Kartavya Bhawan, Lakhpati Didis, and around 10,000 other special guests from various sectors, who will be present for the Republic Day Parade.
According to the Defence Ministry, the list of special guests includes those who have shown exemplary work in income and employment generation, outstanding innovators, researchers, start-ups, self-help groups, and top performers under significant government initiatives.
