Kukma, April 2 (NationPress) Reshma Ben Hirani, a dedicated science educator at PM Shri Kukma Primary School in Kukma, situated in Bhuj Tehsil of Kutch district, Gujarat, has transformed the challenging subject of science into a more enjoyable and comprehensible experience for students through her exceptional innovation. Her contributions have garnered recognition at the state level.
Reshma Ben's innovative approach demonstrates that quality education is achievable in government schools when teachers inspire students through creativity and dedication.
To simplify the understanding of science for children, Reshma Ben developed multiple engaging games. These include jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, stick puppets, cards, snakes and ladders, and tic-tac-toe, all designed to elucidate the science curriculum for classes 6, 7, and 8.
These interactive games facilitate an easier grasp of various science topics for children.
A remarkable feature of these games is that they are crafted from hardboard, steering children away from mobile gaming and encouraging learning through play rather than screens.
Reshma Ben's innovation achieved first place at the zone level and was subsequently showcased at the state-level innovation fair, where her creations received extensive praise.
At this fair, organized by the Gujarat Educational and Training Council, Reshma Ben was honored with a trophy and certificate for her invaluable contribution. Currently, her innovation is being utilized in over 50 schools across the state, with PDF files of her games aiding children's education.
Reshma Ben began her teaching career in 2010 at Atal Nagar Primary School in Bhuj and has tirelessly worked to ignite students' interest in science. Since 2013, she has served as a science teacher at Kukma Primary School, implementing extraordinary educational initiatives. She was also awarded the Talented Teacher Award for the year 2022-2023.
Class 8 student Gusai Kripali shared with IANS, "Previously, science appeared very difficult, but now we grasp it easily. Our teacher, Reshma Ben, conveys concepts in simple terms. When PM Modi discusses the promotion of science, we feel inspired to accomplish great things ourselves."
Student Krisha added, "Our teacher teaches us science exceptionally well, breaking down even the most challenging topics. Her teaching style is incredibly effective, and it greatly benefits us."
Meanwhile, Reshma Ben noted that even in government schools, quality education can be delivered if teachers exert the right efforts for their students. She believes that improvements in student outcomes are attainable when educators direct their efforts productively.
